PRE-ROOKIE Roger Maris on a NrMT/MINT 1956 Indianapolis Indians’ team—signed ball! Before Maris broke into the majors and rewrote the record book, he paid his dues in the minor leagues. Presented is a Worth Official Little League ball signed in bright blue ink by twenty-six (26) members of the 1956 Indianapolis Indians including Roger Maris ("9+"), Joe Altobelli, Stu Locklin, Dick Tomanek, Eddie Gasque, Johnny Hutchings, Kerby Farrell (mgr., sharing the sweet spot with Bill Harrell and one other), Russ Nixon, Bud Daley, Ted Beard, Bob Young, Howie Rodemoyer, John Gray, Stan Pawloski, Dave Pope, Stan Pitula, Lou Brissie, Lon Warneke, George Spencer, Rudy Regaldo, etc., etc. The signatures all average a 9/9+ on a white ball whose surface exhibits but one, quarter inch diameter circular blemish mentioned only for the fact that this ball is otherwise an unequivocal MINT-BLAZER! 1956 represented Roger Maris' final season in the minors before moving up to the Cleveland Indians in 1957.
