Babe Ruth autographed baseba.ll. Incredible single-signed “Babe” Ruth baseball circa 1920-21! Here is a splendid blue fountain pen ink Ruth signature within the sweet-spot that has held up incredibly well for nearly one hundred years against the light, sepia-toned leather canvass of a blue & red-stitched “Official League Ball”. The orb still sports bold, crisp stampings within its pleasing patina; and we would grade the ball a “7++/8--“ with Ruth’s impressive signature a solid “8/8--.” It is well-established that by 1930 Ruth had dropped the use of quotations when writing his first name; however, the tight version of the signature presented here allows for an even more précise estimate of its creation as unmistakably one originating in the early 1920’s and even possibly the late-teens which makes it one of only a handful of known examples from that era
